When you are a teenager,it seems that every time you say, “I want to ... ”, your parents answer,“No, you can’t.”
Young people further complain that their parents do not 41 them. When something goes 42 , most parents just don’t believe in their children. 43 asking why, they think their kids are wrong. And not many parents allow their kids to choose for themselves.
Yes, 44 is true that your parents sometimes treat you as a little child. But remember that not long ago you were really a child. Your parents still remember the childish 45 you used to make. They want to protect you 46 you don’t want them to do so.
So,if you want to get 47 freedom, please try to understand your parents and don’t lie to them. Try a more friendly way. If you want them to 48 you to stay out late, don’t just say, “All 49 kids can stay out late.”
Tell them as much as you can about what you want to do and where you’ll be and 50 it’s important for you to stay out late. Then they just might say, “Yes.”

Are you looking for something fun and would you like to help other people in your spare time？Then join us to be a volunteer(志愿者).
We are a non-profit organization(非盈利性组织). We have volunteer jobs for people of all ages. Anyone, from twelve-year-old children to people in their 80s, can become a volunteer.
You can help people in many ways. Schools need help with taking care of children when their parents are working. Hospitals need volunteers to look after children when their parents see a doctor. Animal lovers can help take care of those dogs and cats without homes. There is something for everyone.
“As a volunteer, I don’t want to get anything. Seeing the children’s happy faces, I am happy, too.”says Carlos Domingo, an old woman of 62.
If everyone helps out a bit, we’ll have a better world to live in.

We asked thirty young people between 14 and 18 several questions. All the children had computers at home. The average time spent on a computer in a week was about 12 hours, with the highest about 32 hours, and the lowest only 5 hours. Most children said they usually used computers to play games. Fourteen children told us they did some word-processing(文字处理) at times. Eight people told us they kept addresses and phone numbers on their computers or used them as diaries. Only three people said they were learning to write computer programs and nobody used databases(数据库). Only two of them said computers helped with their lessons. The diagram(表格) gives all the results one by one.The results show that computer use is quite common among 14-18-year-old children. They also show quite clearly that computers are seen by most young people as little more than game machines. It means to us that, though computers are common(普遍) in the homes of young people, they have not yet become popular in everyday life.

（）InEuropemany people died during World WarⅡ. As a result, at the end of the war there were many orphans (孤儿) there. A man called Hermann Gmeiner wanted to help these children. His idea was simple. He wanted the orphans to have a home, and to have the care and kindness of parents. Gmeiner asked people to raise some money. With the money he built the first SOS Children’s Village at Imst, inAustralia. It opened in 1949. This is how the SOS Children’s Village started. The letters SOS stand for“Save Our Souls (灵魂)”. This means “please help us!” The SOS Children’s Village gives help to orphans.
Hermann Gmeiner’s idea of helping orphans soon spread all over the world. By 1983, there were 170 SOS Children’s Villages in the world. People in many countries give money to help the villages. Today the children from the first children’s village have grown up. Now some of them work in other SOS Children’s Villages. In SOS Villages orphans live in family groups. There are several houses in each village. The biggest villages have 40 or 50 houses! From seven to ten children live in a house. A woman lives with each group of children and looks after them. She gives the children a lot of love and kindness. She cooks for them and makes a comfortable and happy home for them.
Of course, the children don’t spend all their time in the village. They go to school, go out with their friends and also go to town. But the village gives them a home—for the first time in their lives.
